Dressing for beauty and elegance
Your motherhood era is so special. Whether this is your first bub or your fourth, these moments and memories deserve to be preserved. The journey to motherhood is a magical and transformative experience. Pregnancy is not only a time of anticipation but also a period of remarkable beauty.
Capturing these moments allows you to cherish and share the radiance of this special time with your loved ones for years to come.
My Top 3 Tips
The key to beautiful maternity photos is feeling comfortable and confident. Embrace your beautiful bump and let your inner glow shine through.
To help you look and feel your best during your maternity photoshoot, here are 3 of my top tips on what to wear, and how to prepare:
1. Flowing Dresses: Flowy maxi dresses are a popular choice for maternity photos. They accentuate your bump while providing comfort. Soft, neutral colors like ivory, cream, or bone, as well as mustard, terracotta and brown, can add a touch of elegance to your photos, and they work so well with the environment I shoot in. Soft, floaty dresses will allow for movement with the soft breeze, and amongst the tall grass. But, we don't have to leave it at that - we will have time for outfit changes. So, think jeans and bra, matching underwear set or scroll Pinterest and let your imagination run wild! I would love to work with you if you a creative idea in mind!
Be sure to visit Mama Rentals for your next hire piece. Hire it - wear it - then send it back.
2. Nails, hair and makeup: Before I became a photographer, I thought they were like magicians. You go to one and they magically make you look incredible. Then I became a photographer and whilst I often feel a little like a magician, I know that much of the magic happens before anyone gets in front of my lens. Your hands will be in your photos ALOT! I suggest you get a manicure and tidy up of your nail paint to ensure you don't have any regrets when you receive your gallery from me. In addition, cleaning your rings and jewellery will make them sparkle that little bit extra!
Your make up doesn't need to be applied by a professional. My approach to photography is natural, and I think that the most beautiful images are those where makeup is complimentary. Your everyday makeup application will suit just perfect. Nothing to heavy, or overpowering, and nothing too dark around your eyes. Just remember - we are in a paddock, not a black-tie event ;)
And finally, your hair. Leave it out - let it get swept away in the gentle breeze. Put a soft curl through it or leave it straight - that is up to you.
3. Love your body! There are many times where you may not feel as glamorous as what you have done previously. Your pregnancy body is a work of art in itself. Embrace the curves and the changes your body is going through. During your photoshoot, don't shy away from showcasing your bump. Work with me and I'll assist you to find poses and angles that highlight your beautiful pregnant form. Above all, wear confidence. Your happiness and anticipation will radiate through your photos, making you look and feel truly beautiful and special.
Maternity photography is a wonderful way to celebrate and remember the unique journey of pregnancy. I'm here to help you capture these precious moments. Embrace your new pregnancy body and those beautiful curves; they tell the story of your incredible journey into motherhood. So, prepare for your maternity photoshoot with confidence and let the love and excitement shine through in every frame.
