An Intimate Start
It so nice to be apart of a wedding where you know so many familiar faces, many of them close friends, and also work with amazing vendors that you know will help make the day even more magic! I knew it was going to be a goodin, from the moment I was asked to be their photographer.
Love was in the air on the morning of December 23rd, 2023, as Nicky and Rod embarked on the start of their marital life at the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Peace church in Scone. In an intimate ceremony filled with close family, warmth and love, the couple exchanged vows, sealing their commitment to each other. As well as Nicky's dad flying in from Germany for the occasion, what made this day even more special was the simultaneous baptism of their two youngest children, creating a beautiful tapestry of family unity.
A Family Affair
After the church service, the familiar atmosphere at Nicky's sister's house provided the perfect backdrop for candid shots, genuine emotions and bridal portraits. While the newlyweds enjoyed a delightful spread, freshened up, and sipped on some bubbly, I discreetly captured these precious moments, immortalizing the love that surrounded them. We stepped outside to get a few formal bridal images, although they were both very happy to have 'only a few for memories'.
The After Party
After a little outfit change from Nicky, the real magic began to unfold at 3 pm when the celebration moved to The Cottage in Scone. With its grand proportions and old-fashioned character, the outdoor terrace & courtyard provided the perfect balance of style and sophistication, as well as an ambiance that has a way of bringing people together. Approximately 80 of Nicky and Rod's closest and dearest friends set the stage for an unforgettable wedding reception.
With formalities kept to a minimum, the only requirement was clear – to drink, dance, and revel in the joy of the occasion. Laughter, and singalongs echoed through the air as friends and family came together to celebrate this union of love, finally ;) The Cottage, adorned with beautiful grapevines, and gently lit by floating festoon lights, became a haven of merriment and jubilation.
Their nearest and dearest
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the heavens opened up - a light sprinkle of rain sparked some energy into the dance floor as it came to life. Their two eldest sons joined them and their loved ones, dancing the night away.
Honestly, everything was picture perfect as well as completely genuine, and the perfect expression of who Nicky and Rod are as a couple. They found the ideal balance between tradition and modern styles, doing things their way as well as putting emphasis on the meaning of family and meanigful friendships.
