Welcoming Baby George Home in Muswellbrook: A Cozy In-Home Session in the Upper Hunter

There’s something so beautifully sacred about those first few weeks at home with a new baby.

The quiet.

The chaos.

The in-between moments that often pass by in a blur of nappy changes, cuddles, and cold cups of coffee.

I recently had the privilege of stepping into Emily & Jess's family home in Muswellbrook, nestled in the heart of the Upper Hunter Valley, just weeks after they brought their precious little one home.

And oh, what a session it was.

The Real Beauty of Home

This session wasn’t about perfect poses or pristine outfits. It was about connection.

Snuggles on the couch.

Big sister twirling barefoot across the lounge room.

Dad gently rocking the baby by the window, with that soft golden light pouring in — the kind that makes everything feel just a little more magical.

The family had just entered that beautifully messy season of life where nothing is quite predictable — except the love that flows thick through the walls.

In-home sessions like this one are my favourite because they allow everyone — especially tired new parents — to just be. No need to pack nappy bags, wrangle toddlers into car seats, or worry about timing everything around naps. The home becomes the backdrop of the story, and it’s already filled with love.
